SEVEN CAVES COCKTAIL RECIPES

Once you bring a bottle of Seven Caves home, we invite you to enjoy the spirit in a variety of delicious ways. Keep checking back, because we're always adding new, creative and seasonal cocktail recipes.

make it at home:

Step 1: Drop 1 raw sugar cube into a nice old fashioned glass
Step 2: Add 2 dashes cherry bitters
Step 3: Add 2 dashes orange bitters on the cube
Step 4: Let it mellow for a bit, then add 1 Luxardo Cherry
Step 5: Smash all that goodness together
Step 6: Add 2 oz of Seven Caves Barrel Aged Rum plus a couple of ice cubes
Step 7: Stir to perfection with a metal spoon.
Step 8: Now, we enjoy!

and pair it with:

If an Old Fashioned is your go to, you're in luck. This cocktail is perfect for just about everything.  Try it with a perfect medium rare ribeye, any barbecue or for dessert.  It's our signature and favorite.  Come to the shop and see how we make them!

Make it at home:

Step 1: Combine Seven Caves Barrel Aged Rum, lime juice, agave and St. Elizabeth All-Spice Dram in shaker
Step 2: Shake then strain into a glass over fresh ice. 
Step 3: Top with ginger beer
Step 4: Float 4 dashes of bitters on top
Step 5: Garnish with lime wheel and mint sprig
Step 6: It's time to enjoy!

And pair it with:

The ginger beer in your cup pairs deliciously with almost any Asian dish. If you're making it at home, we suggest a Thai Noodle Salad, Shrimp Pad Thai or maybe even Indian Curries.

Make it at home:

Step 1: Carefully place a few large ice cubes into mixing glass.
Step 2: Pour in 2 oz of Seven Caves Barrel Aged Rum, 1 oz. Carpano Antica Vermouth and 2 dashes Agnostura Bitters.
Step 3: Stir for about 45 seconds
Step 4: Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass, or drink it with a fresh ice cube in an old fashioned glass.
Step 5: Add 1 luxardo cherry to the cocktail
Step 6: As always, enjoy!

And pair it with:

This is drink is meant to be enjoyed with friends anywhere from grilling in the backyard to powering through the spiciest food imaginable in K-Town.  The Samhattan, like its namesake, will get you through the trickiest of situations.  Best bring your own knife.

Make it at home: 

Step 1: Combine all lychee puree, orgeat, lemon juice and bitters
Step 2: Muddle in the Thai Basil
Step 3: Float Seven Caves Barrel Aged rum
Step 4: Garnish with orchid (because why not?)
Step 5: We dare you not to enjoy!

And pair it with: 

We think you should enjoy this lychee treat with sushi and sashimi. The pair is perfectly balanced and amazingly delicious. You will thank us, we know this.

Make it at home:

Step 1: Fill a tall glass with ice
Step 2: Add all ingredients
Step 3: Stir well
Step 4: Enjoy it with a friend!

And pair it with: 

Have you ever thought to pair your cocktail with pizza? Well, we do everything with pizza in mind, including our cider-based San Diego Autumn. Consider a white pizza that will let the cider shine (and vice versa).

Make it at home:

STEP 1: Combine Seven Caves Barrel Aged Rum, sugar syrup and bitters
STEP 2: Stir and then strain over big ice cube
STEP 3: Finish with an orange zest
STEP 4: Get ready because it's time to enjoy!

And pair it with: 

The smooth notes of brown sugar and vanillas of your Seven Caves Barrel Aged Rum are the perfect partner to incredible yakitori, Korean barbecue or a simple roasted Chicken dinner.  Simplicity and perfection... no need for all the fuss.

MAKE IT AT HOME:

STEP 1: Fill an old fashioned glass full of ice.
STEP 2: In a second old fashioned glass, drop in the sugar cube, add the two bitters and let mellow for a bit.  Once it is well soaked, crush the sugar cube.  Now add the Rum to this mixture.
STEP 3: Empty the first glass of the ice, add a bit of Herbsaint and swirl to coat the glass.  Discard any remainder.
STEP 4: Add just a bit of ice to the rum and bitters mixture, give it a brief stir with a metal spoon to blend everything together, then carefully strain into the chilled, coated glass.
STEP 5: Twist a thin slice of lemon peel over the surface of the cocktail, then place the lemon peel on the rim of the glass before serving.

AND PAIR IT WITH:

The bitterness of the Seven Caves Rum Sazerac pairs perfectly with the subtle flavors of the sea. Try it with scallops, shrimp, or a buttery seabass!

Make it at home:

STEP 1: Combine Seven Caves Barrel Aged Rum, Quality Whole Milk, Seven Caves Maple Syrup, and Vanilla into a shaker half filled with ice.
STEP 2: Shake and then strain into a glass.
STEP 3: Top with freshly grated nutmeg.
STEP 4: ENJOY!

AND PAIR IT WITH:

This drink is meant to be enjoyed cuddled up next to a cozy fire with friends and family. Pair it with coffee cake, cookies, or even pie! It's the perfect holiday cocktail.
